2/3/2010 - Announcement: Participants, volunteers needed for BMA student event
BMA Colorado will host its annual Student Résumé Review scholarship event on Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Approximately 30 undergraduate and graduate students from local universities will have the opportunity to participate in resume reviews, mock interviews and roundtable discussions as well as compete for one of three scholarships, which will be awarded based on résumé, professionalism and interview skills. Participants may even interview on the spot with employers looking to hire interns or fill entry-level positions.
BMA is seeking students with an interest in marketing to join in the event. It also needs volunteers to offer positive and constructive feedback on students’ interviewing and résumé-writing skills as well as to lead roundtable discussions on business topics such as interviewing techniques, maintaining a professional appearance, designing a standout resume, creating a portfolio and more. Additionally, the organization would like to hear from employers who wish to interview students for positions within their company. BMA members can participate free of charge. Nonmembers can interview students for $75.
BMA is also in need of event sponsors. You can make a financial contribution for breakfast ($250), lunch ($500), or beverages and snacks ($150) for the students and volunteers, or you can donate food and drinks instead. You can also sponsor a participating student for $35 so he or she can attend the BMA Keynote luncheon on Wednesday, April 14, at which time the three scholarships will be awarded.
For more information about participating in the Student Résumé Review scholarship event as a student, volunteer or sponsor, please contact Christina Southern-Ewoldt, BMA Student Chair, at 303.527.5174 or christina.southern@leopard.com.
