Quick Tips on Email Marketing
How can I create good-looking, effective email campaigns?
If you're crafting email newsletters and campaigns, keep in mind that
the inbox is just another place to show off your organization's unique
brand and style. And by paying attention to a few style details, you
can create campaigns that are as beautiful as they are effective.
1. Choose a font style and stick with it.
An attractive campaign is one that's easy on the eyes. After all, ifthe eyes are comfortable and enjoying themselves, they're more likely
to hang out and keep reading. Choose a font that suits your style and
use it consistently, then accent judiciously with bolds and colors,
and you'll make eyeballs everywhere happy.
2. Use images to enhance your content.
A MarketingSherpa study found that recipients read more of an email'stext if it contains graphics near the top. As you're choosing images,
find ones that work proportionally with your overall layout and
enhance your content instead of creating visual clutter.
3. Use simple, bold headlines to make your point.
An appealing campaign also makes its appeal to readers early. Too manyotherwise nice-looking campaigns bury the lead, to borrow a bit of
newspaper terminology. Stylish, bold headlines and subheadlines can
grab your readers' attention, help make your point, and add separation
and structure to text-heavy campaigns.
