Junior Achievement In-A-Day

We had so much time the first time, we’re doing it again. BMA Colorado is sponsoring another JA In-A-Day program this spring. Only this time, we’ll be partnering with the Junior Achievement board of directors and AT&T Mobility to take over an entire school.

BMA Colorado needs 20 volunteer teachers for Friday, April 9th at Kepner Middle School.

About Junior Achievement

Much like BMA, Junior Achievement is a national organization with a flagship chapter located right here in Colorado. Their mission is “to inspire and prepare young people to embrace free enterprise and succeed in a global economy”. It’s really a perfect complement to our own “Learn it today. Do it tomorrow.”

JA lines up business professionals to teach work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship to school aged kids (K – 12). They are very fun, engaging and easy turn-key programs. There’s a good 3 minute video on the JA Colorado website:

JA In-A-Day for Kepner Middle School

On Friday, April 9th, Junior Achievement volunteers will be teaching all of Kepner Middle School's classes for an entire day. BMA Colorado is sponsoring 20 volunteers to teach a total of 10 classrooms. The JA board and AT&T Mobility will be teaching an additional 32 classrooms. It’s going to be incredible.

Here’s how it will work:

• About 2 weeks prior to our JA In-A-Day, we’ll have a one-hour training session at JA’s downtown office.
• On 4/9, we’ll teach the 7th grade at Kepner Middle School in Denver.
• Two BMA members will “tag-team” teach each classroom from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
• It works out to 5-6 JA lessons packed into a day, plus breakfast, lunch and recess.
• We’ll have a post-teaching cocktail reception to celebrate and network.
