Join us for our signature event series, Cocktails and Conversations with the C-Suite.  This event will feature David Grant of Teradata. He’ll discuss the topic of BIG DATA and the important role it plays in marketing. You’ll also learn more about how Dave got to where he is in his career, and his experience as a recovering salesman in marketing.

David Grant
VP, Industry Marketing and Solutions

 

 

 

As Vice President of Industry Marketing & Solutions, David A. Grant has worldwide responsibility for the communications, media, entertainment, e-commerce, and utilities industries at Teradata Corporation.  

Grant joined Teradata’s marketing force when he assumed the role of Industry Solutions vice president for communications, media, entertainment and e-commerce in 2007. The Utilities industry was added to his province in 2009.  In 2010, his responsibilities were expanded to include industry strategy and marketing.

Previously, Grant served as the east region sales vice president. Earlier, he led the northeast telecommunications team. Before joining Teradata in 2001, Grant was the vice president for the U.S. strategic major accounts group within the Financial Division of NCR.  During his 15-year career there, Grant successfully led a variety of sales and service teams responsible for major New York-area financial institutions.

Grant is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business, where he earned a BS in business administration and a concentration in computer science.  He is an active member of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) where he chairs the BMA Corporate Advisory Council.

John Hines
Director of Digital Media & E-Commerce Marketing

 

 

 John Hines is Director of Digital Media & E-Commerce Marketing at Teradata, where he is also leading the corporate digital strategy. He is helping the team develop the business know-how in Digital Media, Interactive & E-Commerce, and helping customers understand how to create personalized experiences on their sites, using progressive activities, such as advanced BI and big data analysis. He can offer industry expertise to digital media and e-commerce companies, from the business-side leadership perspective.

For the past 6 years, prior to joining Teradata, he was in charge of E-Business for Qwest Communications, Inc., driving the long-term strategy, P&L, site structure, content management, A/B/multi variate testing, data integrity, and operations, and was responsible for E-Marketing, including cutting-edge social media.

He uses a proprietary methodology to transform the customer experience. He managed more than 120 direct reports, including the online chat organization, and grew the percent of sales which moved through the web from less than 2% to over 13%.

In the telecommunications industry, he has led the field of social media reviews and ratings, as well as launching Twitter, Facebook and other Social Media campaigns.

Prior to Qwest, he has run Digital Media and Corporate Marketing departments at GE, Sun Microsystems, and various advertising agencies. His sales, marketing, and digital media business leadership perspective can be valuable to help Teradata assist the business-side leaders in other companies, to significantly improve their online customer leads, sales revenues, and customer retention.
